"As the seasons transition between spring and summer in Grand Teton National Parks, storms are common and often hide the majesty of the mountains. While I was there at the end of May/early June of 2023, the peaks were behind the clouds all evening. I started to see some light rays shine through the clouds and headed to a spot where I could see if the mountains appeared. I waited for over an hour, and then, right as sunset was happening, the tallest peak in the park, the Grand, suddenly was unveiled from the thick layer of clouds. The light was so beautiful as it blended with the colors of the sunset. The moment was so fleeting, and I only had about 30 seconds to capture the scene before the clouds enveloped the peak again. While I sat there after capturing this shot, I realized how much this scene that unfolded in front of me felt like my life. There are so many times when I can't see what is around me or ahead of me, where darkness and clouds appear to surround me and overwhelm me, and I don't see the beauty in my own life. But then the veil of darkness is removed, even for a moment, and I remember how blessed I am to live this life and experience so much beauty in the world around me. I find hope and joy in these moments and hold onto them each and every day. This photo always reminds me of this and I hope it can for the viewer too. "
