Numerous visits to France since 1995 had a huge impact on Alexis Olin's art. Since then, painting, photography and music have become connected with all the projects to which he relates. On par with that, though, brushes with canvas and digital drawing with computer and tablet remain a priority. The edition of the K9 comic book magazine and the fascination with the FrancoBelgian School of graphic novels form the basis for writing and creating paintings and illustrations. Later, the work of the Renaissance, as well as contemporary artists from Europe and Asia, inspired him their turn. The creation and launch of his own brand “Métrique” now gives him the ability to express his singular talent and show his art on clothes & fabrics, using them as canvases, thus unleashing his style outside the walls of the studio and galleries. NIGHT, by Alexis Olin & dOP, 2022. NIGHT is an NFT in 1:1 edition, part of the first series “Day-to-Night” of the Nephel’s Dream artwork collection. This pre-series is made of 2 unique NFTs, DAY and NIGHT, representing the two genesis coloured variations of the Nephel’s Dream visual tale, drawn with digital tools. The NFT is linked to a physical version of the artwork, reserved for and claimable by the owner, consisting in an unique printing under acrylic glass, in 50x50cm. The collection is released in 3 subsequent series. Each of them relates to the Alexis Olin’s piece in a version that corresponds to a key milestone in the creative process that led to the final artwork, tracing its evolution through time. This first “Day-to-Night” version, created in “night” as well as “day” colors, reflects the vision of a fantastic and oneiric universe through the heroes’ eyes, a child called Nephel, during his long journey across 25 days and nights onboard a magical train. This artwork contains the main characters and foundational elements that were then used by the artist as a story-telling basis and canvas to draw by hand, out from it, a completed and reframed “Black & White” version being the second milestone, unveiled in the 2nd NFT series, on the path to the final artwork. As a result this 2nd version can be divided into 25 equal squared parts (associated to 1:1 NFTs) representing the different chapters of the tale, from day 1 to day 25, and being associated to one of the 25 songs of the Nephel’s Dream album, composed, produced and performed by the electronic group dOP. From digital to physical, then from physical back to digital, the 3rd series brings back the tale to colors thanks to the use of technology and digital brushes, prolonging the artwork onto its final stage and state. Nephel’s Dream is an apology of the fusion of digital and physical mediums, that offers art new possibilities and unlocks innovative experiences. Utility & rights : By owning the NFT, the NIGHT holder is de facto member of the Nephel Club, has free access to all official exhibitions, concerts and events of the Nephel’s Tour across Europe, and receives regular giveaways of Nephel’s side art directly in the wallet. As the owner of a 1:1 artwork, the holder can redeem the physical NFT (1:1 printing under acrylic glass, 50x50cm, signed by the artists), as well as a vinyl of the Nephel’s Dream album in collector edition. He/she is informed through time about other unlocked utilities, including IRL experiences, and derived art & products to which he/she has right/access along the project’s evolution. The holder has a right of representation over the NFT and is allowed by the artists, for personal use (e.g. profile picture) and at the exclusion of any end of monetisation, to broadcast it on the internet and social networks.
